The Map and Geospatial Hub received a 2022 Esri Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award for its 3D Explorer application. Matthew Toro, Director of Maps, Imagery, and Geospatial Services, received the award on behalf of the unit on July 13 at the 2022 Esri User Conference in San Diego.
Esri presents SAG Awards annually to recognize the outstanding and innovative GIS work of organizations around the globe. In 2022, SAG Awards were presented to just 0.2% of all organizations that created content with Esri software. The Hub is greatly honored to see its work recognized alongside the various projects of this select and impressive group of organizations. A list of all 2022 SAG Award winners is available on Esri’s website and the winning projects can be viewed in Esri’s Virtual Map Gallery.
The 3D Explorer application is an ongoing project designed and created by the Map and Geospatial Hub team. To learn more about the application, see the ASU News article “Mapping the ASU Library map collection” or peruse the 3D Explorer itself on our website. Please direct any questions about the 3D Explorer or other Map and Geospatial Hub projects to our staff via our service request form.
